With the Sabrent SBT-SRD2 Silicon Image Serial ATA 2-Port RAID PCI Controller Host Card Adapter, it is easy to add Serial ATA (SATA) ports and RAID 0 and RAID 1 to your system.The card provides a 32-bit 33/66 Mhz PCI interface on the host side and two fully compliant Serial ATA ports on the device side. This permits you to connect two SATA drives for RAID 0 (striping) and RAID 1 (mirroring). RAID 0 increases performance by writing data to multiple drives simultaneously and RAID 1 protects data from failure by writing data to both drives so there is a backup in case one drive fails. Hard drives larger than 137 GB are supported and the Serial ATA interface has transfer rates of 1.5 Gbps.
The card requires Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Server 2003, or Linux or Novell Netware. Drivers for Windows operating systems are included.
